This function allows you to eliminate point-by-point; or correction of duplicated data, or any points that fall within a certain radius of one another. If points that fall within a certain radius of each other are to be viewed but NOT deleted, you should use Compare Points.

Procedure

  1. The Screen Details display.

  1. Fill in the relevant data and click OK.

  2. The standard Filter displays.

  1. Click OK to continue.

  2. For every pair of points passing the filter and falling within the screen radius of each other, the Manual Details display and you must specify if you want to delete/alter one of the points or keep them both.

  1. Typically, if a pair of duplicated points is found, you would elect to keep one and remove the other. The points are listed as they are removed from the database.

Because points with an elevation of '0' are not taken into account by the terrain model, it is a useful trick to set any data that you want to retain, but exclude from the model, to that value. It also means that these points can subsequently be isolated for inspection or deletion using a 'Z'' range filter.
