This function allows you to import a SWMM input file (.INP), and create a Storm model from the imported data.
Procedure
- The file browser displays.
-
Select the SWMM INP file to be imported and then click Open.
- The following message displays.
-
Click Yes to proceed.
- You are asked if you also want to import the Simulation Options.
-
Click Yes to proceed.
- The data is imported, and if there are any conduits in the INP file the SWMM Link Shape Mapping options display.
You can define the mapping in a number of ways:
Map New Links
-
To simply use the link shapes in the INP file in the storm data set, click Assign without filling in any other columns.
- New link types will be added to the Link Table for every link shape and size listed in the first column of the table. For instance, the first link shape in this example, TRAPEZOIDAL, 2000, 1000, 0.20, 0.20, will be added as Link Type TRAPEZOIDAL with the name "2000 x 1000", as shown below.
- Similarly, the CIRCULAR link shape will be added to the Link Tables as "CIRCULAR" and the sizes added to the CIRCULAR link types sizes.
Specify Link Names and Other Parameters
- You can select an existing link type from the second column.
If you select an existing name the imported shape will be added to that existing link table.
- Similarly, you can select existing sizes from existing link types or type in new sizes.
Select the link types and sizes and click Assign.
Use Defaults
This option simply substitutes all the imported link shapes with the default link type and size.
