Here you can specify how link shapes in the INP file are represented in the storm data model.

Option

Description

SWMM Link Shape and Size

This column contains a list of all the link shapes found in the INP file.

Link Type

Specify a link name for this link shape. You can type in a new name or select one of the existing link types. A new link type will be created with the specified name in the Link Tables.

Size1

Specify or select an existing link width.

Size2

Specify or select an existing link height.

Size3

Specify the third dimension parameter i.e. the bottom radius of a RECT_ROUND shape.

You can define the mapping in a number of ways.

Map New Links

To simply use the link shapes in the INP file in the storm data set:

  1. Click Assign without filling in any other columns.

  2. New link types will be added to the Link Table for every link shape and size listed in the first column of the table. For instance, the first link shape in this example, TRAPEZOIDAL, 2000, 1000, 0.20, 0.20, will be added as Link Type TRAPEZOIDAL with the name "2000 x 1000" as shown below.

  1. Similarly, the CIRCULAR link shape will be added to the Link Tables as "CIRCULAR" and the sizes added to the CIRCULAR link types sizes.

Specify Link Names and Other Parameters

  1. You can select an existing link type from the second column.

If you select an existing name the imported shape will be added to that existing link table.

  1. Similarly, you can select existing sizes from existing link types or type in new sizes.

  1. Select the link types and sizes, and click Assign.

Use Defaults

This option simply substitutes all the imported link shapes with the default link type and size.
