Settings, Dimensions

This function allows you to create a new dimension style, edit an existing style, or select the current dimension style using the Dimension Styles.

Please note the following:

The Dimension Styles display.

Here you can edit the selected style's Lines, Witnesses, Arrows, Text, Units, Fitment, Tolerances and Centre marks.

Add a New Style

  1. Click Add.  

  2. You are prompted to enter the name of the dimension style.  

  1. Type in the new name and click OK to accept it.

  2. The new name is verified for uniqueness. If the name is already in use the following error appears.

Click OK and re-enter a new name.

  1. The new dimension style appears in the Styles list. It's settings are copied from the previous selected dimension style.

Modify an Existing Style

To modify the dimension style:

  1. Select the style from the Styles list.

  1. You can now select the Settings pages by clicking on the tabs - Lines, Witnesses, Arrows, Text, Units, Fitment, Tolerances and Centre Marks - and changing the settings using the controls on each page.  The sample window updates to show your changes.

Delete an Existing Style

To remove a dimension style from the Styles list:

  1. Select the style to be removed by clicking on the name.

  2. If the dimension style has not been used in the current drawing the Remove button is enabled.  

  1. Click Remove and confirm the deletion of the dimension style.  

Click Yes to delete the style; or No to return to the Dimension Styles Manager.

Apply a Style to Existing Dimensions

To apply a new dimension style to an existing dimension:

  1. Select the dimensions to be saved by clicking them.

  1. Click Apply to apply a style to a dimension.

  1. The Apply Dimension Style options display, allowing you to set how and what you want to apply the setting to.

  1. Click OK to display the Apply Dimension Style options. The selected elements of the current dimension style are applied to the relevant dimension entities in the drawing.  

  2. Press [Esc] to deselect the dimension entities and view the changes.
