The selected entities are first copied to the clipboard in both an internal and an image format, and then removed from the drawing.
The entities on the Clipboard can be pasted back into the same or another drawing using the Paste function. An image of the entities can also be pasted into other applications in the same way.
Procedure
- Select the feature to be removed and inserted in a new position, drawing or application. Select the entities by clicking on them or dragging a selection box around them. You can also use the standard selection functions, including Select All, Select by Polygon, Select by Filter and Invert Selection, to create the required selection of entities you want to save.
- Select Edit ► Cut or click the icon in the Main toolbar. Alternatively, press [Ctrl+Y]. The selected entities are copied to the clipboard and then removed from the drawing.
- You can now Paste the selection to a new position in the drawing or into a new drawing. Select Edit ► Paste or click the icon in the Main toolbar. Alternatively, press [Ctrl+V].
Alternatively, you can Paste it onto other applications.
