WATERTIMESIMULATION |
|
|
The continuous time simulation is a very a necessary part of every hydraulic analysis of a system with variations in water use. The continuous, usually 24 hour, simulation of a water network and distribution system allows:
Presentation of the pressures and flows in the network under conditions of changing water use.
Level oscillations of water in reservoirs, which enables control of the chosen volumes.
The functioning scheme of pump stations, by controlling the parameters of operation, and other elements that mirror a realistic operating system.

Description |
Parameters |
|
Simulation Starts at |
This option allows you to select any time of day to begin the simulation, as well as any day of the week. |
Time Increment |
Any time increment (starting at one minute) can be specified, although since the demand patterns have a factor of 15 minutes each, it is more practical to start at 15 minute time increments. |
Duration |
Duration can be specified in hours or days. |
Apply Seasonal Peak Factor |
Select this checkbox to take the seasonal peak factor into account during analysis. |
Water Quality |
Click to display the Water Quality Analysis Settings. Displays a reminder of the currently active quality analysis type. Defaults to the last selected type. |
Advanced |
|
Link discharge to pressure |
This option links the discharge to the pressure at that point. See the Nodes topic for more information. |
Calculate water losses |
This option calculates the water losses. |

Reservoirs |
Select to view the state of the reservoirs during the simulation. You can view up to six reservoirs simultaneously. Each display screen has a pull down menu from which you can select the reservoirs you want to see displayed during the simulation. |
Click Start to start the analysis.
The following progress window displays.
