Mark

The mark functions allow you to select nodes and links individually upstream from a specific point, or all the nodes and links. You can also clear an existing selection.

The network analysis and the quantity calculations are only done on selected records. In addition, the Cover Level and Set Parameters functions only operate on selected records.

The display is updated when you activate the selection functions to highlight all the selected nodes and links. Upon completion of the selection functions, the nodes and links are re-drawn normally.

Single

Select a single node and link.

This function allows you to select or de-select a single node and link.

Procedure

1. You are prompted to:

Mark: Indicate link to mark (right click for options)

2. Click on the node or link you want to select or de-select. The display is updated to reflect the status of the node and link.

3. Press [Esc] or [Spacebar] to end the function.

Branch

Select the nodes and links with the same Subnetwork and Branch numbers.

This function allows you to select all the nodes and links with the same subnetwork and branch numbers, by selecting one of the links in the branch.

Procedure

1. You are prompted to:

Mark Branch: Indicate link to start branch trace (right click for options)

2. Place the cursor on a link and click. All the nodes and links with the same subnet and branch number as the indicated node or link are selected.

3. Press [Esc] or [Spacebar] to end the function.

Upstream

Select the nodes and links upstream from a specified point.

This function allows you to select all the nodes and links upstream from a specified point. The program clears the existing selection and then tracks and selects all nodes and links upstream of the indicated point.

Procedure

1. You are prompted to:

Mark Upstream: Indicate link to start upstream trace (right click for options)

2. Place the cursor on a link and click. All the nodes and links upstream of the indicated node or link are selected.

3. Press [Esc] or [Spacebar] to end the function.

All

Select all the nodes and links.

This function allows you to select all the nodes and links in a data set.

Procedure

The program will redraw the network in the selected mode.

Clear

Clear all the selected nodes and links.

This function allows you to de-select all the nodes and links in a data set.

Procedure

The program will redraw the network in normal mode.

Toggle Show Marked

Toggle between showing the selection highlighted or normal.

This function allows you to switch the display of the marked node and links on or off.

Procedure

The program redraws the marked section of the network in normal mode, and on the next click back in marked mode.
