This function allows you to create database records by indicating drawing entities. The program adds a record to the data set, and copies selected data into the record.
The drawing must contain circles representing the nodes, with associated text near each circle representing the node name.
Procedure
For example, in the picture below there are two circles with the node names as text items, MH 123 and MH 124, respectively.
Classify: Indicate upstream node
Click on or near the circle representing node MH 123. The program extracts the centre coordinates of the circle, searches for nearby text to use as the node name, and also extracts a cover level for the node from the DTM, if one is included in the project.
Classify: Indicate the downstream node (right mouse button to stop)
Click on or near the circle representing MH 124 to display the Node Data Editor. You can now input any additional information that is required.
Click Close to exit the node data editor. The nodes and link are now displayed.
Classify: Indicate the downstream node (right mouse button to stop)
Continue indicating downstream nodes. Alternatively, press [Esc] or [Spacebar] to end the function.
Alternatively, if you want to connect the new node (MH 123) to an existing node in the data set (043 in this example), click on or near the existing node. In this instance, the program prompts for an upstream node after you have closed the Node Data Editor.
