Generate Key Plan

This function allows you to define a Key Plan, which shows the position and numbering of a series of plans.

Before you generate the key plan, you should have defined one or more plot sheets. The Key Plan option then allow you to position a master sheet over the plot sheets to show their position relative to the overall site and each other.

Procedure

In this example you first define a number of plot sheets using the  Auto Define option.

  1. Select Plot ► Generate. The Plot Setup page displays.

  1. Select the Plan.sht sheet file from the standard sheet files supplied with Civil Designer, and then click Next.

  2. Set your scale and click Auto Define.

  1.  You are asked if you want to define the plan plots along a road alignment or within a rectangle. In this instance, click Within Rectangle.

  1. The Plan Setup window is removed and your drawing displays.

  2. You are prompted to:

  1. Specify a distance of 20m and click  Enter .

  2. You are prompted to define the bounding rectangle that encloses your area of interest:

Indicate the start point of the defining rectangle

  1. Position the cursor at the top left corner of your area of interest and click.

  2. You are prompted to specify the bottom right corner of the bounding rectangle:

Indicate the end point of the defining rectangle

  1. Position your cursor, as shown below, and click.

  1. The plan sheets are defined to cover the area of interest, and are listed in the Plan Setup window.

  1. The plan sheets are arranged as follows.

  1. You can now define the Key Plan settings by clicking Key Plan to display the Key Plan Generator.

  1. Set up your parameters and click OK.

  2. You are prompted to:

Plan Plotting: Indicate plot centre (Right-click to end)

  1. Position the rectangle around the defined sheets and click. You can rotate the key plan sheet if required.

  2. Once you have defined the key plan sheet, you are returned to the Plan Setup window.

  1. Click Next to display the Plan Lists window.

  1. Select which lists you want to include on your drawing and click Finish.

  2. Civil Designer creates a layout for the key plan, and a layout for each of the defined plan sheets.
