Create a new blank drawing on which you can draw.

This function allows you to create a new drawing window with default settings for paper size and scale and no entities. The name of the drawing displays in the Title Bar. The name of each new drawing opened follows on numerically.

Settings for new drawings, such as paper size, scale, coordinate system, etc, can be set via the Set as default option in the Drawing Settings. The New from Template command can also create new drawings with specified settings.

Procedure

When you open Civil Designer it opens with a blank drawing. The name [Drawing1] displays in the Title Bar. For example, here you have an open drawing in Civil Designer.

To open a new empty drawing:

1. Select File ► New or click the New icon in the Main toolbar.

2. The new blank drawing is opened with a drawing name [Drawing2]. Each new drawing opened will follow on numerically as below.

3. Once a drawing is opened the name of the drawing is displayed in the Title Bar.
