Configure settings for new survey dimensions.

Description

Format

Select the general format, the basic appearance, from the dropdown list.

Orientation

Select an orientation option:

  • Text follows bearing angle - Text is oriented along the bearing line.

  • Text is always visibly upright - Text is oriented such that it can be read without rotating the drawing i.e. "the right way up".

Bearing counter-clockwise

Select this checkbox to have the bearing angle calculated as the angle between the drawing's zero angle and the bearing line, measured in a counter-clockwise direction.

Append unit symbol

Select this checkbox to have the current drawing units symbol appended to the distance value.

Text style

Select a text style for the dimension text from the dropdown list.

Height

Enter the height of the dimension text in drawing units.

Gap from line

Enter the distance, in drawing units, that the dimension text is offset from the bearing line.

Decimal separator

Enter the character to be used as the decimal separator.

Shows what a survey dimension would look like using the current settings.

Decimals and precision settings

Displays the Decimals and Precision window.

Survey dimension settings are not like dimension styles. Changes made now do not affect dimensions already created, only those that will be created in future. Settings can be changed for individual, or selected, existing dimensions via the Properties function.
