Drawing Plane |
This function allows you to set the drawing plane origin to a new position, either Absolute to the current origin or Relative to the current drawing plane origin, using the Elevate DP settings.
Absolute sets the DP origin a specified distance from the designated world origin (0;0;0).
Relative sets the DP origin a specified distance relative to the current DP origin position.
Procedure
The diagram below shows the drawing plane origin set to the world origin position of (0;0;0).
To set the drawing plane origin to a new position, either Absolute to the current origin or Relative to the current drawing plane origin:
In the first example below, you set an absolute value of 100.0 for the drawing plane.
In the second example, you are set the drawing plane to 100.0 units relative to the current drawing plane (which is 0).
In the first example, the drawing plane is changed to an absolute value of 40 i.e. the elevation is 40 above the origin.
In the second example, the drawing plane has been changed from 100 to 140 by applying a relative change of 40.
