This function allows you to add 3D models as mesh objects to your drawing or projects in order to flesh out a 3D scene. It is much easier to find and import a complex 3D model than it is to draw the 3D object using AllyCAD 3D mesh functions.

Procedure

  1. Select File ► Import/Export ► Import 3D Model.

  2. Select the .OBJ or .STL file you want to import and click Open.

  1. The Import 3D Model Options dialog displays.

  1. Specify the options you require and click OK.

  1. The 3D model is imported and inserted into the drawing as a polyface mesh entity. It will inherit the current layer and pen settings.
