Draw a predefined weld annotation, or specify and create a new weld annotation style.

Make sure that the drawing units are set to mm (millimetres) before using the mechanical toolkit functions.

Procedure

  1. The Weld Annotation options display.

  1. Select a predefined weld annotation from the drop-down list, or fill in the relevant data.

  2. Select whether it is a site weld or all around weld or both.

  3. Click OK to draw the specified annotation.

  4. You are prompted to:

Indicate the arrow head position for the Weld indicator

  1. Position the cursor where the weld annotation arrow head must be drawn, and then click.

  1. You are prompted to:

Indicate the position of the Weld indicator.

  1. Click on the desired position of the weld indicator. Cursor hold will be active at this point, allowing you to specify a position for the weld symbol and tail that is aligned with the weld indicator.

  2. You are asked to:

Indicate the position of the weld symbols.

  1. Click on the desired position of the weld symbols. The weld length and pitch text displays.

  2. You are prompted to:

Indicate the position of the tail.

 

  1. Click on the required position of the weld tail. The weld annotation is drawn.

Adding Weld Annotation Styles

To add your own weld annotation styles:

  1. Click Add.

  2. Enter the relevant data.

  3. The style is saved when you click OK, or when you select another weld annotation style from the list.

Deleting Weld Annotation Styles

To remove a weld annotation style, select it in the list and click Remove.

If you modify an existing weld annotation style you are asked to save it. Select No to avoid changing the original style; or Yes to overwrite it.
