Cavity Closer

Trim the wall cavities.

This function allows you to tidy up the intersection of internal walls with external cavity walls.

Note the following:

• The most important factor here is to make sure that your wall style is set to the same wall style you used to draw your plan layout.

• This trimming function only works correctly when using the Arch Windows & Arch Doors symbols.

Procedure

You can close individual cavities, or close all the cavities in a selected plan area.

Closing a Single Cavity

1. You are prompted to:

Select window/door of block on plan view for cavity snipping (else spacebar to exit)

2. Click on the window or door.

3. You are prompted to:

4. Click Yes to snip/trim the cavity; No to exit the function; or [Spacebar] to repeat the function.

Closing Multiple Cavities

1. Select the plan area where you want the cavity snipping/trimming to apply.

2. Select the Cavity Closer option from the menu or toolbar.

3. All the cavities in the selected plan area are automatically trimmed.
