Layer Magnification
A layer magnification value can be specified for each layer in the Layer Settings.
The Status Bar and Ruler will display differently if the current layer has layer magnification. The Ruler is drawn with green divisions, and the scale displayed in the Status Bar is adjusted according to the current layer magnification.
The following functions support layer magnification if they are performed in a magnified layer:
-
Expand details
-
Adding new dimensions - the dimensions are aware of any active layer magnification (scales the dimension’s “Unit Scale” (Linear scale) automatically)
-
Measuring distances - the measurement is aware of any active layer magnification
-
Query Entity output shows lengths and distances scaled by the active layer magnification
-
Lengths and distances reported in the Properties Bar are scaled by the active layer magnification
-
Distance jumps and coordinate jump
-
Arc lock radius offset
-
Parallel copy
-
Draw Rectangle (fillet/chamfer setting)
-
Draw Polygon (side length / radius)
-
Draw Circle centre + rad/diam
-
Draw Circle Tan Tan Radius
-
Draw Arc (centre + start + end)
-
Draw Arc (start + end + dir)
-
Draw Ellipse and Elliptical Arc
-
Draw Multiline (corner radius + offset scaling)
-
Draw Geometry circle (centre + rad/diam)
- Draw Geometry parallel line
Functions that do not work with layer magnification include:
-
Line-Arc-Line
-
All Toolkit functions and addon functions
-
Insert block
-
Insert XRef
-
Insert image
- All scripts (although scripts can now get the current layer magnification)
