Polygon Area

Calculate the area and perimeter of an indicated polygon.

This function allows you to calculate the area and perimeter of a polygon formed by indicating points on the displayed cross-sections. The points indicated can be on any of the displayed layers.

Procedure

1. You are prompted to:

2. Click on a point in the Road Section Editor.

3. You are prompted to:

4. Click on the next point that will form the polygon. You will continue to be prompted for the next point in the polygon until you re-indicate the point initially indicated as starting the polygon.

5. The following message displays.

6. The Area displayed is the calculated area of the indicated polygon, while the Perimeter displayed is the calculated perimeter of that polygon.
