A block is a predefined and named group of entities which you load from another drawing and insert into the current drawing. This used to be referred to as symbols in AllyCAD V3.x and Civil Designer 6.x.
You will be given the option to select the block, specify the angle and scale, and also rotate the block before inserting it.
You still have all the functionality of the symbols of old and can:
When you add a block insert to the drawing, it get its own "local" copy of the block attributes that exist in the block definition that the insert references. The Block Attribute Editor allows you to edit the values and properties of block attributes, both in block definitions and in block inserts. Changes to the attributes in a block definition can also be applied to block inserts that reference the block definition.
When editing the attributes in a block definition, you can:
Tag name, prompt string, value string.
Text style, text height, width factor, alignment, angle, u/d, b/w.
Annotative flag.
Layer and pen colour.
Remove attributes from the block definition.
Change the "prompt order" of attributes in the block definition.
Apply changes to the attributes to existing block inserts in the drawing.
Attribute "value" is never overwritten.
New attributes are added to the block inserts.
Orphaned attributes are removed from the block inserts.
When editing the attributes in a block insert, you can:
Edit all attribute properties, except for "Tag name" and "Prompt String".
Remove attributes from the block insert.
