Named DPs

Name and manage drawing planes in the drawing.

This function allows you to name or manage drawing planes in your drawing, using the Named Drawing Planes manager.

You have to set the drawing plane before you can add it to the named drawing planes list.

Procedure

Once you have set the drawing plane, you can add it to the named DP list. The Named Drawing Planes manager displays.

Add a Named DP

To add the current DP as a new named DP:

1. Click Add.

2. Specify a new name for the named drawing plane and click OK.

3. The new named DP is added to the named DP list. It will have the same direction and elevation as the current DP.

4. If the current DP is the same as an existing named DP, you will be warned that the named DP you are trying to create already exists.

Remove a Named Drawing Plane

To remove a named DP from the list, select it from the named DP list and click Remove.  

Use a Named DP

To set the current DP to a named DP:

1. Click the named DP in the list to select it. The example below has the DP set to the left view. It changes to the top view.

2. Click Use. The current drawing DP is set to the named DP you selected.
