Define Named Viewport

This function allows you to add named viewports, which define areas of interest that you may want to access quickly.

Procedure

To define a named viewport:

  1. Select View ► Viewports ► Define Named Viewports or click the icon in the Misc toolbar.

  2. You are prompted to:

  1. Type in the new name and press [Enter].

  2. You are prompted to:

Indicate first corner of viewport rectangle

  1. Click in the position for the first corner and drag the rectangle to enclose the required viewport.

  1. The function repeats itself until you terminate it by pressing [Esc] or [SpaceBar].

  1. The named viewports can be viewed and edited in the Named Viewports Manager.

  1. You can also zoom in quickly to a named viewport. Select Zoom ► Named Viewport, or press [Z]+[N]. The Select Named View for Zoom window displays.

  1. Select the named viewport to view and click OK. Alternatively, the first nine views in the viewport list are assigned zoom hot-keys from 1-9.
